Smart Home.

Smart switches, smart panels, lighting scenes, automated control, and integration with what you already use. Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, or none of the above. We'll tell you honestly what's worth it and what's a gimmick. We won't pitch you a vendor lock-in.

Overview

Smart, when smart actually pays off.

Smart home stuff has a reputation for being either incredible or a regret, and it usually depends on whether the install was thoughtful. We try to be thoughtful. The starting point is always: what problem are you actually trying to solve?

If it's "I want the kitchen lights to come on automatically when I walk in," the answer might be a motion sensor on a regular switch. If it's "I want every light in the house controllable from my phone and I want scenes for different times of day," that's a different scope. We'll lay out what each tier costs and what it actually does. Smart switches from Lutron Caseta, Leviton Decora Smart, or Kasa are the usual entry point. Whole-home control gets into smart panels (Span, Schneider Square D Energy Center). Lighting scenes and automations usually live in Apple Home, Google, Alexa, or Home Assistant. We work with all of them.

When you'll want to call us

Building a new place and you want it wired right for smart from day one. Renovating and the walls are already open. Tired of fumbling for a switch at 2am. Wanting to monitor whether the basement freezer is still drawing power while you're at the cabin. Looking at a smart panel and wondering if it's worth it. Trying to make HomeKit and Alexa both work without giving up.

What we won't do

We won't push you into a closed ecosystem just because it pays a referral. We won't recommend a smart panel that costs more than your service upgrade. And we won't sell you on automations you didn't ask for, half the time the answer is "don't bother, regular switches work fine here."

Process

How a smart home install actually goes.

/ 01

Conversation

We talk through what you actually want. Pain points, ecosystem, budget. Often this is the longest step.

/ 02

Quote

Within 24 hours. Hardware + labor + programming time. Phased options where relevant.

/ 03

Install

Switch swaps, panel work, low-voltage runs as needed. Most basic smart switch jobs are half a day.

/ 04

Setup & Handoff

Programming, app onboarding, scene creation. We don't leave until it works on your phone.
